UPDATE: Better, Bolder Peace Corps Survey

Our thanks to the more than 4,500 (!) individuals who participated in our Better, Bolder Peace Corps Survey. While there was good participation across the various eras of service, about one-third of the respondents were RPCVs between 2000 and 2009.

In the week since the survey ended, we have been poring through the nearly 2,800 respondents who offered comments at the end of the survey. We're reviewing these comments closely - including looking at them in different subsets - to see if they reinforce the raw survey numbers or indicate any additional trends.

We expect to have some initial results posted next week, and plan to have a full report completed by December.

One Year to Go!

The Peace Corps's 50th anniversary kicks off ONE YEAR from yesterday, the anniversary of Kennedy's speech at the University of Michigan where he first articulated the vision of a Peace Corps.

You can find information and resources concerning the 50th anniversary on National Peace Corps Association's regularly updated 50th Anniversary page. The most recent addition to the page is a letter from the NPCA Board Chair, Jan Guiffaro, providing an important update on NPCA's activities around the 50th, including plans for a commemorative space near the National Mall. Belonging

Friends, what a difference a month makes…

Let me begin by stating that I am happy and fulfilled and have been happy (and mostly fulfilled) here in Paraguay since I got to site in August (08). What is also true is that I haven't always had enough activities to fill my days. Then along came an idea called…”Como Planear Mi Vida” that changed everything...

Now, if I had been more proactive, I would have marched over to the colegio (middle/high school) and introduced myself to the students during m… Continue
